The highly absorbent microporous separator of the maintenance-free FG lead-acid battery binds a maximum amount of pure electrolyte and permanently isolates the electrodes from each other. This means that the battery can be operated in any position, even upside down, without any loss of capacity. The electrodes are made of a special antimony-free lead alloy. This results in a very low self-discharge rate of less than 3% per month. The robust housing material is an impact- and break-proof ABS plastic that is resistant to corrosion and ageing. FG lead-acid batteries are resistant to deep discharge and can be recharged after a deep discharge. However, they should always be recharged immediately after discharge. Accumulators of the same capacity can be connected in series and also in parallel without splitting the charge, but they must always come from the same batch.
